Astronomy has been a hobbie of mine since I was ten (10) years old. It was then I wanted to be an Astrophysicist but that path was terminated for me when I was seventeen (17) years old. My ultimate goal with this site is to make it a great resource for learning astronomy online. At present I am unable to find a website dedicated to teaching novices all about astronomy. While my site do not yet achieve this goal, I hope to achieve this in years to come, even if it takes me 10 years. I'm not in any hurry. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the links below.

Learning Astronomy

Odyssey (Space exploration and astronomy for young people) (see also here)
This magazine started it all for me, back then it was all astronomy and a sister magazine of Astronomy Magazine. It was bought over in 1992 and soon after became a science magazine for children ages 10-15. My name appears in Dec 1989 (p13) and Sep 1991 (p28) issues. My country is mentioned in Nov 1991 issue (p26) (which is me, shucks, they could've put my name). Click on images below to see.

2006-2007 - I studied Preliminary Physics and Preliminary Mathematics (A level equivalent) in my first year of my BSc. in Information Technology and Accounting degree at The University of The West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. Unfortunately, I was only able to complete 1.5 years with a 4.22GPA. It was very tempting to switch to a BSc in Physics.

2010 - During my first visit to USA one of the places one of my hosts took me to was US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. It was completely unexpected. I had a blast and took many pictures. Unfortunately I was too old to go to Space Camp. Noticing the many children there made be feel like a kid again. One of my highlights there was the US Space Shuttle Pathfinder that is stationed there. Huge! Amazing! Believe it or not, it was only years later that I realised I had fulfilled a childhood dream of mine (minus being a Space Camp 'recruit' but close enough, yeah!!!). I am happy and very thankful!

2020
One of the gifts of Covid-19 was providing me the opportunity to finally formally study Astronomy and Astrophysics. Below are the courses I have completed:

Astrophysics Courses
AstroTech: The Science and Technology Behind Astronomical Discovery
               - The University of Edinburgh - taught by Andy Lawrence and Catherine Heymans
Confronting The Big Questions: Highlights of Modern Astronomy
               - The University of Rochester - taught by Professor Adam Frank

Astronomy Courses
Archaeoastronomy - Politecnico di Milano - taught by Giulio Magli
Astrobiology and the Search for Extraterrestrial Life
               - The University of Edinburgh - taught by Prof. Charles Cockell

2021
I think I'll write this part sometime in 2024.
